Business Development & Sales Manager, or Director

We are building our team to support clients’ growing needs and are looking for an experienced professional with business development and sales expertise to help lead Daymark’s next chapter of growth. This role will identify new market opportunities and provide business development and sales leadership to our dynamic team of analysts, consultants, and trusted advisors that provide advice and analysis to clients across the U.S. and Canada. Salary range for this position is $110,000 - $170,000 depending upon experience and qualifications.

Role:

The Business Development & Sales Manager (or Director, depending on experience level) will report to Daymark’s Head of Operations and will work closely with Daymark’s Practice Area Leads to champion North American business development and sales activities. This role will represent the company at conferences and events and be accountable for the development of a sustainable project pipeline to help deliver our objectives and longer-term strategy. 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • In line with company objectives, develop and implement business development and sales strategies to deliver a strong revenue pipeline and drive business growth.

  • Research emerging market trends and competitive landscapes to identify and pursue new business opportunities, expand the firm’s client base, and position the firm for success.

  • Be a spokesperson for the business at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility. 

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. 

  • Set business development and sales targets, monitor performance, and provide regular reports to senior leadership on sales metrics, forecasts, and pipeline management.

  • Lead business development activities and coordinate account management across the consulting sales team to leverage existing networks and build referrals. 

  • Contribute to project delivery by providing advice and expertise on communication standards (e.g., presentations, reports, messaging).

 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in consulting business and its business model, with knowledge of the power market industry in North America.

  • A hands-on approach with a can-do attitude along with an overriding curiosity and desire to help others succeed in a team environment. 

  • Demonstrable and progressive experience in business development and sales with a focus on driving revenue growth, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment. 

  • Strategic mindset and leadership capabilities with the ability to analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop effective sales strategies. 

  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization and externally with clients, both verbal and written. 

  • Have an interest and willingness to take part in industry events and professional organizations to represent the company and promote the brand. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making processes. 

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • College degree.
